It's a brand new year and we have a brand new location opening up in Cape Girardeau!
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Missouri are proud to announce that we are offering a “pilot” after school site at the House of Hope in Cape Girardeau! This site is being started specifically with Jefferson Elementary School in mind and will be targeting children that attend this school. Based on the number of kids participating and the support of the local community, we hope to make this a permanent Club location. To open this new site, we will be partnering with House of Hope, a ministry of Cape First located at 1000 Ranney Ave and this location will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and follow the school calendar. This site is set to open on Monday, February 11th.
In case you are not already familiar with our program and what we do, we are an After School Program that offers many fun opportunities for your children! We start each day after school with a healthy snack and some fun free play. Then we transition into a program we call “Power Hour." Power Hour is when we give our members time to work on their homework and get help from our staff and volunteers if they need it. If members have no homework, they are encouraged to do something else educational during this time such as read a book, practice spelling or math, etc. After Power Hour we offer a variety of specialized programming that could be anything from science experiments to gym games or maybe a community partner coming in to provide programming.
Does this sound like a good fit for you and your child? If so, please give us a call or come by our office and pick up an application. Signing your child up takes less than five minutes of your time as all we need to hold their spot is a completed application and we are more than happy to answer any other questions that you might have about our program and the day-to-day operations of Club.
